If you are looking for a break where you can relax and really enjoy nature, then the Forest of Dean is the perfect choice for an autumn getaway. With the beautiful trees and the fresh air, as well as both the River Severn and the River Wye running through it, the Forest of Dean is a magical autumn destination.

Of course there are an abundance of walking routes throughout the forest. A popular route is the sculpture trail where you can walk through the trees and find the artworks in amongst them. Symonds Yat is also a great place to walk if you enjoy breathtaking views across the river.

After all of that walking, a Sunday lunch is needed and there are lots of fantastic places to find a hearty lunch in the Forest of Dean. There are lots of cosy pubs in villages throughout the forest, like the Lyon Inn in Westbury on Severn where you can find a great meal, as well as the Saracens Head at Symonds Yat if you want a lunch by the river.

There are also lots of family attractions throughout the Forest of Dean. Go Ape is a fantastic fun filled activity attraction in the forest with rope bridges and ziplines, and at Symonds Yat you will find canoeing on the River Wye. Puzzlewood is also a fun place for families with a magical atmosphere.
