Here are some of the ways that copper pipes are used in everyday items that you probably don’t think about.

Water – one of the most obvious ways that copper pipes are used is in the transportation of hot and cold water to our homes and businesses. This could be to provide clean drinking water to our taps as well as hot water for us to wash with. The pipes will also be used to provide water to our heating system that helps keep us nice and warm in the colder autumn and winter months.

Fridges – copper is a vital part of helping keep our fridges at a steady temperature. They help to keep them cool in the summer and provide any warmth that they might need in the winter. This means that the food we store inside them will remain fresh and safe to eat.

Gas – copper pipes can be used to transport a number of different gases. These could be the domestic gas that we use in our heating systems and ovens and hobs and also gases that are used in the medical industry.
