Internet Record Setters

Read Time:1 Minute, 20 Second

There is a Guinness World Record for just about any activity you can think of, no matter how bizarre it may seem. Here are some related to the internet and websites:

Most internet users in one country – In 2016, the number of internet users in China was given as a whopping 750 million! China beats India, the next highest number of internet users at 390 million. That’s a lot of internet connections! To reach your target audience, consider the benefits of using a SEO Agency Belfast like www.rycomarketing.co.uk/digital-marketing-belfast/seo-belfast/

Quickest residential internet connection – You might wish this was you but the record holder is, in fact, Sigbritt Lothberg of Karlstad, Sweden. Her connection is a whopping 40 Gbps which allows her to download a high-definition dvd in just 2 seconds! It helps that her son is an internet guru called Peter Lothberg.

Longest internet blackout – In January 2008 in the course of just one week, 4 undersea internet cables were cut which meant losses for millions across the Middle East, Asia and North Africa. It is still unclear whether it was the result of sabotage or ships dragging their anchors across the sea floor.

Most searched animal – In 2003, Google announced that the one animal that gets the most searches is the domestic cat! Could it be that cat owners outstrip dog owners?

Highest number of internet users per capita – According to figures by the International Telecommunications Union, the country with the highest number of internet users per capita is Iceland at 95.2%.
