Tips for Creating a Seating Plan For Your Wedding Reception

Read Time:1 Minute, 19 Second

Creating a seating plan for your wedding can be a little overwhelming, especially if you have never done so before. The key to making it work is to make sure that everyone has at least one person they know on their table. If you have multiple tables, plan to have circular tables so it’s easier for everyone to see each other and have more open conversations. Remember that having a well thought out seating plan is the first step to a successful wedding reception.

The earlier you know who is coming, the earlier you can begin planning. Leaving the plan to the last minute will only add to the stress as the big day draws nearer. Speak to the venue to find out exactly how many tables there will be, where the tables are located within the room and how many each table seats. Ask the venue to supply you with a floor plan to help visualise the scene. For more information on Wedding Venues Northampton, visit kelmarsh.com/weddings-at-kelmarsh-hall

Try to include a good mix on each table, such as an equal number of men and women plus a mix of ages, if you can. It’s a good opportunity for people to mingle without forcing them to sit on a table of complete strangers if you make sure everyone knows someone on their table.

Think about any guests with mobility issues and which table is most accessible. This could include elderly guests or pregnant people and those with small children, for example.
