  • Cuban – this is the most traditional form of salsa dancing and has its roots based in the form of the origin of the dance. It has high levels of hip movement and body isolation. There are fewer fast steps than in other styles of salsa. The movement of the body occurs in a circular motion which is what gives the style its hip sway.

This style of dancing tends to be passed down through family and friends and it can be hard to find a dance instructor that is well versed in this kind of salsa.
